Dear Mr. Wilson:

Subject: Patron Concerns

Thank you for staying at Century Park Hotel on May 10. We are pleased to have recently refurbished rooms for our guests and we pride ourselves on cleanliness. We hope that you found your room tidy and well-kept. The Century Park Hotel team and I apologize for any trouble you encountered during your stay with us.

The hotel has been fortunate enough to have brand new carpets, upholstery, paint, and draperies installed this past month. As part of our efforts to preserve these new additions to our hotel, we have implemented a nonsmoking policy for the first and second floors. We have noticed that the heavy odor of cigarette smoke gets absorbed into the floor, walls, mattress, and drapes which lingers in the room.

Upon signing in to the hotel, you signed a nonsmoking agreement as part of your contract. We also have nonsmoking signs posted in each nonsmoking room with handouts detailing our policy and consequences. The handout plainly states, “Should a guest opt to disregard our nonsmoking policy, we will process a fee of $150 to the guest’s account.” Our hotel offers smoking accommodations for guests who desire to smoke.

For your next stay at Century Park Hotel, we can offer you 10 percent off one night’s stay. Make sure to keep an eye out for our new swimming pool coming in August!
