Getting Published (OH. MY. GOSH. PEOPLE!)

So it’s official world: I’VE BEEN ACCEPTED TO BYU, PROVO FOR JOURNALISM!

And to celebrate, I asked the Clark College student newspaper if I could write a story for them because it’s my last quarter as a Penguin! The Independent editors have been very kind and asked me to write a piece on the food programs at Clark. <— Exactly what you’d expect for my first piece!

But here’s the fascinating part: the culinary program has been closed since spring and everyone’s anxious to see when it will reopen. I’ve done some digging and I’ve come to an interesting conclusion… You’ll have to read my story so you can become enlightened too!

Please keep in mind that this is a rough draft of my FIRST STORY EVER. I interviewed nine Penguins (including the dean and different department heads) and I did absolutely all of my own reporting. Oh, and I did this all in three days.

My dream is actually happening! Just think, this time in 2015, you’ll be saying, “Remember when I went to school with Si-si? Now she’s a hot shot reporter!”

Look for the *edited* version in your copy of Clark College’s The Independent, set to hit stands by the end of the month! 🙂

Toodles!
