There is controversy in Congress over the “Obamacare” laws (cq). Republicans are set on changing the laws before tomorrow, when the laws are supposed to become enacted. If all parties are not satisfied sooner rather than later, Republicans are threatening a government shutdown to take place starting in the morning. The government shutdown would eliminate the jobs of 800,000 federal workers (cq) for the duration of the shutdown, delay first time home buyers from receiving assistance, delay many borrowers from any loan money, and close national parks as well.
Republicans are trying desperately to repeal the law that forces Americans to pay for healthcare or pay a fine. Republicans have allowed many parts of the law to stay the same, such as: requiring healthcare companies to cover people with pre-existing conditions, allowing people to stay on their parents’ plans until age 26, and allowing the healthcare companies freedom in deciding which birth control methods to cover.
